Google Creates Cups to Promote Future of Web Design Conference
Using a 44oz Paper Cold Cup that would hold soda and/or popcorn, Google created artwork on two sides of the cup with one of the sides explaining the rules and details of the contest in which they would be giving away one Nexus 7 (an android tablet) each day for several days to potential participants in the contest. The contest involved contestants drawing an App on a fake phone on the paper cup on ‘how to order popcorn.’ Individuals used their best sketching skills to draw the app, snap a picture and post it on the Google+ page. Not only did this help promote the new Google+ social media site, but it served as a cross-promotion for the Nexus 7 tablet as well.
