The Guardian Credit Union in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, wanted to encourage children in the city to save their money and reward them for it. The credit union purchased several state fair tickets as well as baseball tickets and created “piggy banks” out of Reusable Clear Plastic cups. When children filled the cups with savings and brought them into the credit union they could use the funds to start a new savings account, and, depending on how much they saved, they had the opportunity to earn either state fair tickets or baseball tickets. Not only did the credit union incur more business and gain potential lifelong banking customers, but they worked to develop a creative venture that expanded their business.
